Of Joshua Weeks and his parentage little is known. He may perhaps
have been the son of Leonard Weeks, Portsmouth, one of the men who
stood for Massachussetts rather than for the crown in 1665, for
according to Savage's Gen. Dictionary, he had a son, Joshua, who was
born June 30, 1674 (Mack, Edward Cartwright of Nantucket MA,
p. 9.)

before 1710, she married Joshua Weeks, who is thought to have been
born about 1677 or 1678. both were admitted to the Sabbitarian
Baptist Church in Newport in 1722 (Mack, Edward Cartwright of
Nantucket MA, p. 9.)

Elizabeth Weeks, wife of Bryant Cartwright, Sr. was the daughter of
Joshua and Abigail (West) Weeks. She was Bryant Cartwright's first
cousin, as her mother, Abigail, and bryant's mother, Ruth, were
sisters. They were married at Martha's Vineyard. Some of their
children were born there and others at Hopkinton, R.I (Mack,
Edward Cartwright of Nantucket MA, p. 9.)
