She was the daughter of Stephen Batson, who was born in 1610 and who died June 30, 1676. He is also mentioned as being one of the signers of the April 28, 1668 petition at Cape Porpoise. By his will, he left money consisting of 20 shillings apiece to two of his grandchildren, John and Mary Trott, Elizabeth not being mentioned. John Trott, Sr. took the oath of fidelity at Wells, Maine, July 7, 1670 (Mack, Edward Cartwright of Nantucket MA, p. 5.)
