- The One Hundred and Twenty-ninth
Indiana Volunteer Infantry was mustered in at Michigan City in
March, 1864, under Col. Charles Case. The regiment moved to the
front on April 7, 1864, and was assigned to Schofield's division.
The battles of Resaca, Dallas, New Hope Church, Lost Mountain,
Kenesaw, Atlanta, Jonesboro, Dalton, Brentwood Hills, Nashville,
and the six days' skirmish of Columbia were all participated in by
this regiment. On August 29, 1865, the men were disbanded at
Charlotte, North Carolina
